Fun Filled Saturday

We went to Harrison's Tree Farm, and cut down a xmass tree. I've been thinking for years about how to 'be green' and still have a real, xmass tree. I think a living tree is what we will do in the future (and have done in the past), but this year, driving past the tree farm, we just couldn't resist. Sorry tree-we feel guilty, but will be sure to enjoy you thoroughly so that it was worth it! At least we supported Small Business Saturday, right?

Moorea tried to help dig it up!
Solari enjoyed playing in the first snow of the year!

She made her first snow angel!

We went nordic skiing at Mt Hood. There is lots of snow.

We put on tree on the front porch, to be enjoyed there for a few weeks before bringing inside.
And we capped the day off with the tree lighting ceremony on Mississippi. It was a really fun event, with music by my two favorite children's musicians-Tylena aka The Fairy Funk Mother (I kind of wish someone would give me that nickname) and Mr Ben!
Overall, it was a PERFECT day!

We had a wonderful thanksgiving, with our dear friends Ethan and Gusty and their little man Thatcher. They were kind enough to invite us, even with a full house of Gusty's entire family who was visiting from out of town. It was a great afternoon, excellent food and company! Thanks Gusty!!

A morning of pretent play at the Children's Museum. I'm amazed that she knows what the pay phone actually is. She has certainly not seen me use it!

KK visits

We had a wonderful weekend with Grana KK. Thanks for all the delicious meals, both in and out, and your help around the house.
That adorable hat Solari is wearing (which has matching mittens too) is from Granpa GP-who couldn't make it this trip-but will be seeing him soon.
Look forward to seeing you in Arizona for Christmas!! Thanks again!

Thanks for such a great visit

We played at the park in the sun...
and hiked and biked in the woods in the rain!

We had a wonderful visit with Thekla and the new man Dylan (he's a keeper). They were incredibly helpful, getting things done before you could even have a chance to do it yourself!!! Please come back soon. We, especially Solari, miss you already!

18 months today!!

Solari rocking her new rain boots, just in time to stomp in the puddles. I never knew it would be so hard to find rain boots for a toddler, especially in Portland. Most boots are either too heavy or too stiff. The Crocs are perfect. And cute!

Saved Post Halloween

Our costumes evolved throughout the day. Here they are at the start of the day, and unfortunately I don't have any to really document how they evolved. But they did.

Counting the goods at the end of the night!x

Our day started at the skate park, moved to the World Forrestry Center and ended in our neighborhood trick-or-treating.

Pumpkin Carving

Thekla-we agree with you, pumpkin carving is better with power tools!
